Dental Bonding
Benefits of Bonding
Dental bonding is a versatile, effective, and common method to correct various imperfections in teeth. It is among the easiest and least expensive of cosmetic dental procedures. It can be employed to repair chipped or cracked teeth, change the shape of a tooth, and fill gaps between them.
Dental bonding consists of a composite resin material that is applied to a tooth. The procedure begins by preparing the surface for a special bonding agent. A dental resin, which has the consistency of putty, is applied and molded to the desired shape by the dentist. A special high intensity ultraviolet light or laser is applied which hardens the resin.
The process is completed by refining the shape and polishing the surface.
